The Lab is delighted to have been awarded a Programme Award from Cancer Research UK (CRUK) to investigate how ubiquitin ligases BIRC6 and UBR4 are exploited by cancer cells to enable their survival.

The Lab attended the Ubiquitin & Friends Symposium in Vienna and the CCP-EM spring conference in Nottingham.

The Lab will also be attending the 3rd Ubiquitin Function in Health & Disease conference in Portugal in July -

Latest research from the Lab using cryoEM and detailed biochemistry has uncovered how BIRC6 (a giant – 1MDa – ubiquitin ligase also known as BRUCE) inhibits cell death through caspase inhibition, and how this is regulated by SMAC.
